I left a life of relative comfort with a good job to immerse myself in permaculture and off grid living at the Bullock's homestead and what I found was a passion that opened doors of creativity for me. I first found art through wanting to build and not liking my options. I started with cardboard making functional items in a way I've never seen. I realized at the time maybe art isn't what I think it is and maybe I can make whatever I do into art. When Zackaraya Leck and I met my interest was piqued. I started helping with things, learning and before I knew it I was in deep. I started getting tools and realized I found a new path and passion for myself. My 17 years working as an electrician in residential, commercial, and industrial setting prepared me well for the work and environment of a blacksmith shop (although I'm still learning how many things can get hot). I have enjoyed making functional items the most. My shovels are the most pleasing to me so far and I look forward to having access to better tools and technologies to be able to make them a tool that will last generations. The dried flower vases are beautiful to me and also functional because they are difficult to tip which is ideal for dried bouquets! I've also been having fun making necklaces, pendants, bracelets, earrings, plant eve hooks, fire pokers, bottle openers and corkscrews and a bunch of other things.
