Maria lovingly grows and harvest over 20 varieties of colorful basketry willow on the Bullock’s Permaculture Homestead. With a keen eye for color and pattern, she harvest the willows once a year, sorts by color and size, and then designs the style, pattern and colors for each one-of-a-kind piece.
Basketry is a universal craft linking cultures around the world. Maria, born in Poland, weaves in the traditional European style to create unique, beautiful, and functional baskets of all shapes, sizes, and styles.
Maria also offers popular seasonal workshops for basket, broom and hat making.
Working with native bullrush, red osier dogwood and many varieties of European basketry willows, Maria weaves baskets and teaches others these traditional crafts. She is also an outstanding gardener, circus instructor and a vegan chef extraordinaire.
