Farm Tours on the San Juan Islands are a Joy!
Seeing where our food comes from and learning about the ingenous hard work our farmers put in is an immensely enriching learning (and yummy tasting) experience. This year the Makers Guild continues to co-host events managed by the SJI Conservation District and the SJI Agricultural Guild on Orcas, San Juan and Lopez Islands. Come celebrate the honest, direct relationship to the earth and its amazing bounty.
Special Island Maker Events
San Juan Island: Saturday, Sept, 23rd: Sweet Earth Farm & Madrone Cellars on San Juan Island – music hosted by the Guild at each event on Saturday.
Orcas Island: Friday and Saturday, Sept 29-30th: Warm Valley Farm on Orcas Island – food truck on Friday and Saturday tastings and sale of island grown hard ciders for take home enjoyment.
Orcas Island: Sunday, Oct 1st: Lunch in the Orchard at Warm Valley Orchard – delicious local food and walk abouts including farm animals, fiber studio, homestead garden, and local food and beverage makers pop-ups. Lopez Island: Friday, Oct 6th at Farm Tour Dinner Launch at Midnights Farm with Lopez Locavores – local foods, wonderful flavors, convivial gathering with farm tour. Farm tour 4-5, dinner 5-7 in the historic barn. Tickets available online at https://sjimakersguild.ticketbud.com/lopezfarmtourdinner23 . Proceeds benefit the Lopez School Garden.
