Good Foods Awards for SJC Makers

Good Food Awards 2022: San Juan Sea Salt and Girl Meets Dirt.

Each year the Good Food Foundation organizes an epic three-day Good Foods Awards Weekend for the public and trade to meet, celebrate, taste and buy the nearly 200 winners distinctive products.

Winners are exceptional food crafters who top the charts in a blind tasting and meet the environmental and social responsibility standards of the Good Food Awards.

Over 2,000 entries from all 50 states are submitted each year. Winners are selected in categories on a state-by-state basis.

In 2022 the San Juan Islands have two proud local winners of Good Food Awards:

San Juan Island Sea Salt for their chocolate salted honey caramels made with PNW honey and natural, mineral rich salt harvested and dried in Friday Harbor.

Girl Meets Dirt for their Italian Plum Shrub, a delicious beverage mixer made with heritage plums grown on Orcas Island. Great for cocktails and virgin mocktails – just add bubbly water.
