Music Camp at the Aug 5-7 Wonder Camp, Orcas Island.
The forest will be flowing with fascinating sounds during the music workshops and concerts at Wonder Camp on Orcas Island, August 5-7. During engaging workshops, learners of all ages will explore voice, sound bath, string, drum, flute, electronic and didgeridoo music experiences at a historic retreat center in Moran State Park. Campers are invited to become familiar with new musical instruments and delve into deep, primal ways of connecting to nature through music. Exploring voice as an instrument, ways to discover new vocal experiences that evoke the sounds of the wind, the wisdom of the trees, and the voices of wild animals and birds.
The Camp’s instructors are professional musicians who regularly perform on the island and afar and are joining together to form the faculty and performers for this intimate and enriching opportunity to make music, together, in the forests and meadows beside Cascade Lake. The varied workshop programs are a special chance to learn directly from accomplished instructors to develop your own musical skills and inspirations. Familiar musical styles and instruments and more exotic ethereal sounds are highlights of the two-day and three-night Music Track during Wonder Camp. Come stretch your range and your imagination.
Overnight lodging and meal packages are available to provide an enriching time away – and with in.
At the hands-on learning programs hosted by Wonder Camp, you become a maker of music and experiences that enrich your life and add range to your own self-expression. Sessions invite adults and mature teens to join circles of learners under the trees and at the amphitheater for unforgettable days and evenings of music and sound experiences. A parent/child afternoon workshop is also available.
